Newtown locked up the top seed in the SWC tournament with a win over Bunnell Saturday. Masuk and Notre Dame are the No. 2 and 3 seeds, respectively. Weston, Immaculate and Pomperaug are seeded fourth through sixth. The other two seeds are still up for grabs.
Shelton and Mercy battle Monday afternoon in Middletown to possibly determine the top seed in the Southern Connecticut Conference tournament beginning Saturday. Amity is also still in play for the No. 1 seed.
Hand, the defending champion, will have to win on the road to reach the final for the third straight year.
St. Joseph earned the top seed in the FCIAC tournament with a win or tie against Staples on Monday. Ridgefield can fare no better than the No. 2 seed. All three teams will host quarterfinal-round games on Thursday.
New Canaan and Trumbull have also clinched tournament berths. All seeding should become official on Monday night.
Morgan controls its own destiny to earn the top seed, and a first-round bye, in the Shoreline Conference tournament that begins Saturday. Cromwell and North Branford, the defending champion, still have a shot as well.
Platt Tech should be the top seed in the four-team Connecticut Technical Conference tournament that begins next week. Platt Tech and Windham Tech were co-champions last season.
A win against Oxford will give Watertown the top seed in the NVL tournament beginning Saturday. Watertown holds the tiebreaker over Wolcott due to its regular-season win.
