School: Granby Memorial High School.
Gabby is a senior and has gotten either honors or high honors every quarter of her high school career. She is currently president of the National Honors Society, and has received academic awards for History, English and Child Development.
Sports Played And Position: Cross-country (captain this past year; basketball (guard); softball (left field).
Athletic Accomplishments: Gabby has played varsity in all three above-mentioned sports since her sophomore year. She was awarded the coaches award in basketball in both her sophomore and junior years. She has been a member of the Granby softball team that won three North Central Connecticut Conference championships and went to the state championships the past two years. Her sophomore year, she played on the junior varsity basketball team that went 20-0.
How You Prepare Before A Game: “My team and I blast music, jam and dance around in the locker room before games.”
Most Memorable Moment In Your High School Career: “Playing in the state championship game for softball last year.”
What Are You Most Excited About This Season: “I am most excited to be with my team. The girls on the basketball team are more than just my teammates, some of my best friends.They give me the confidence I need and I can always count on them to be there for me and crack a joke. They always make me excited to go to practices and games. I am also excited to share the court and be able to play basketball with my sister Sami, who is a freshman.”
Who Have Been The Most Influential People In Your Life And Why? “Mr.(William) Walsh was one of the most influential people in my life. He coached me in both basketball and softball since freshman year. He always had my back even when I didn’t know he did. He was a very selfless coach and was there purely for the love of the games and he had great joy in seeing his players succeed as they moved up to varsity sports. He taught me the importance of dedication and never giving up.”
College Plans: “I plan to pursue a major in Human Resource management.”
