Friday's NH County girls soccer roundup: Mercy clinches SCC Quinnipiac title

Blakeslee Palmer’s second-half goal proved to be the difference for the Mercy girls soccer team, which won the SCC Quinnipiac Division title for the second straight year by beating Sacred Heart Academy 2-1 Friday afternoon in Middletown.

Danielle Richardson also scored for the Tigers (11-2-1). Kathryn Mortati scored the goal for the Pacers (9-2-3).

Amity 3, Lyman Hall 0 >> Goalie Zoie Reed needed only two saves to lead the Spartans to their SCC shutout in Woodbridge. Cassie Giza, Jackie Smith and Jess Hauser each scored for the Spartans (9-1-3). Goalie Melissa Carubba had nine saves for the Trojans (2-9-2).

Ansonia 3, Derby 0 >> Emma Rosa, Brittany Daniak and Kirsten Langrieger all scored for Ansonia (4-9) in this NVL home win.

Morgan 1, Hale-Ray 0 >> Ciarra Zanderveen scored in the 56th minute to lead the Huskies to their Shoreline Conference win in Clinton. The Huskies (6-7-1) qualify for the CIAC Class S tournament with the win.
