Friday's New Haven County girls basketball roundup: Taylor Mierzejewski leads Trojans to victory

Taylor Mierzejewski had 22 points and Krista Peterson added 12 points and seven assists to lead the Lyman Hall girls basketball team to a 59-28 SCC interdivision win over host West Haven on Friday.
Nicole Mierzejewski added 10 rebounds and four points for the Trojans (2-0).
Kaitlynn Cooke scored 11 points for the Blue Devils (0-2).
Career 74, Hand 48 >> Tanaya Atkinson had a game-high 38 points to lead the Panthers over the Tigers in Madison in an SCC interdivisional game.
Cassidy Wygonik lead Hand (0-2) in the loss to Career (2-0).
Foran 49, North Haven 36 >> Teneya McLaughlin scored 10 of her 18 points in the fourth quarter and added five assists and two steals to lead the Lions over the Indians in a SCC interdivisional game in Milford.
Taylor Ceballos had 11 points and 10 rebounds and Kyra Blaketter added 10 rebounds of her own for Foran (1-1). Jill Johnson had a game-high 27 for North Haven (1-1).
Hamden Hall 59, Rye 33 >> Rachel Plotke made five 3-pointers and scored 23 points in a home victory.
Kaila DeFrancesco had 11 rebounds and four points, Alyssa Devin and Bianca Tomassini added 10 points each for 2-0 Hamden Hall.
Haddam-Killingworth 54, Old Saybrook 45 >> Kiley Anderson had 14 points and Halie Serbent added 13 to lead the Cougars (2-0) to their Shoreline Conference win in Old Saybrook. Mia Neas led the Rams with 21 points and Elizabeth Marshall and Mary Kate Morrison added 10 points each for the Rams (1-1).
Hyde 63, North Branford 56 >> Trayneice Mims had 23 points and four assists and Adasia Beard added 21 points to lead the Howling Wolves to their Shoreline Conference win in New Haven.
Dominique Burgess had 10 rebounds and six points and Nyjayah Gibson added 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Howling Wolves (2-0). Sabrina LeMere led the Thunderbirds with 22 points and 10 assists.
Law 49, Wilbur Cross 27 >> Laura Dulin had 22 points to lead the Eagles (2-0) to their SCC interdivision win in Milford. Malaysia Kearson led the Governors with 19 points.
Mercy 59, Amity 39 >> Maura Fitzpatrick had 19 points and Kendra Landry added 14 to lead the Tigers (2-0) to their SCC interdivision win in Middletown. Chloe Brinton led the Spartans (1-1) with 13 points.
Morgan 54, Cromwell 44 >> Tori Hopkins had 18 points and Kelsey Donaldson added 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Huskies to their Shoreline Conference win in Clinton. Jen Dawson added 10 points for the Huskies (1-1). Mya Villard led Cromwell (1-1) with 12 points.
O’Brien Tech 46, Abbott Tech 27 >> Nicole Belade led all scorers with 24 points in a Constitution State Conference victory in Danbury.
Shannon Sweeney scored 10 for O’Brien Tech (2-0).
Seymour 32, Ansonia 30 >> Faith Thurmond, who scored 15 points, sunk two free throws with 10 seconds left in regulation to lead the Wildcats to their Naugatuck Valley League win in Ansonia. Jenna Dorosh added nine points for the Wildcats (1-1). Morgan Westine had 17 points and three assists and Quentesa Robinson added eight rebounds and two points for the Chargers (0-2).
Wolcott 54, Derby 51 >> Rebecca Adanti had a game-high 20 and Shelby Mendillo scored 17 but the Red Raiders fell at home in their NVL season-opener.
