Middletown 72, Bulkeley (Hartford) 36 >> Senior guard Rajeen Mayo had 15 points to pace a balanced scoring attack as the Blue Dragons remained unbeaten in the CCC South with a big Friday night home win. Tamyia King had 14 points, Mikaela Coady had 10 points and Marissa Aldieri added eight points for Middletown (9-4, 8-0 CCC South). Kenya Anselme had 17 points for Bulkeley (2-9).
Mercy 67, North Haven 35 >> The No. 2 Tigers remained unbeaten with an SCC road win Friday night. Maura Fitzpatrick poured in 28 points, Kendra Landy had 15 points and Destine Perry added 14 points for Mercy, which led 29-13 at halftime. The Tigers (13-0) are home against Shelton on Monday.
Middletown 55, Bulkelely 51 >> The Blue Dragons captured their fifth win in their last six games Friday night at Hartford. Tied 21 at the half, Middletown outscored the Bulldogs 18-11 in the third quarter. Senior guard Antonio White had 18 points, sophomore Makai Hunter had 12 points, senior Brandon Simmons had nine points, nine rebounds and four blocks, sophomore O’Brien Watson had 12 rebounds, and senior Naim Edens had nine rebounds for the Blue Dragons (6-5). Jashar Hasiam had 19 points and Malik Starks added 10 points for Bulkeley (4-6).
Middletown 31, Maloney 30 >> The Blue Dragons edged the Spartans in a Central Connecticut Conference match Thursday night at Meriden. Tom Gatti (138), Jordan Baker (132, pin in 2:47), Albert Landry (126), Jacob Grasis (160), Jamar Jones (220), Nate Melendez (182), Nate Roy (145) and Cody Carrillo (195, pin in 36 seconds) each collected wins for Middletown.
