TORRINGTON >> Wolcott Tech continued its hot start, defeating Grasso Tech 3-1. Wolcott Tech won (25-10; 21-25; 25-12; 25-15). The Wildcats were led by Casey Farrington who had 29 assists, 11 digs, seven aces and Lydia Carlson who had 10 kills and three digs, Wolcott Tech is 4-0, Grasso Tech is 1-4.
Nonnewaug 3, Notre Dame-Fairfield 1 >> Nonnewaug defeated Notre-Dame Fairfield. The Warriors were led by Emma Hanrahan who had three kills, three aces, six digs, eight assists and Caroline Losure who had four kills, four aces, five digs and two assists. Nonnewaug is 2-3, Notre Dame-Fairfield is 1-5.
Housatonic 3, Gilbert 1 >> Housatonic earned its first win of the season, defeating Gilbert. The Mountaineers won (22-25; 25-6; 25-23; 25-17). Housatonic Abby Wilson had seven kills, five digs, five aces. Gilbert’s Nikki Nash had 10 kills and 14 digs. Housatonic is 1-2, Gilbert is 0-6.
Lewis Mills 3, Terryville 0 >> Lewis Mills defeated Terryville in straight sets. Lewis Mills’ Tori Kryzwick had 12 kills, four aces and five digs. Teaghan Dunn had seven kills, two aces and four digs. Terryville’s Bailey Doran had nine kills, one block and nine digs. Lewis Mills is 5-1, Terryville is 2-4.
Watertown 2, Torrington >> Despite numerous opportunities in the second half, Torrington could not overcome the deficit and lost to Watertown. Indians’ Fitore Kilobocishta scored both goals for the Indians. Torrington’s Taylor Howe made 14 saves in the loss. Torrington is 2-2, Watertown 4-0.
Housatonic 2, Shepaug 1 >> Housatonic scored two goals in the second half to take the lead and defeat Shepaug. Housatonic’s Willy Yahn and Sam Hurlbert each scored a goal for the Mountaineers. Shepaug’s Andrew Loya scored the lone goal for the Spartans and was assisted by Logan Racz. Shepaug’s Will Harris made 19 saves in the loss. Shepaug is 0-4, Housatonic is 3-1.
Lewis Mills 0, Northwestern 0 >> Lewis Mills and Northwestern ended in a scoreless tie. Lewis Mills’ Alexander Daigle had seven saves. Northwestern’s Palmer Piana made eight saves. Lewis Mills is 2-0-2, Northwestern is 3-0-1.
Thomaston 3, Gilbert 2 >> The Thomaston Golden Bears won their first game of the season when they defeated Gilbert 3-2. The Golden Bears got two goals from Ardit Coma and another from Nejad Abo. Gilbert’s goals were scored by Ivan Moreira and Derek Fazioli. Thomaston is now 1-3 and Gilbert is 0-0-2.
Nonnewaug 3, Lewis Mills 0 >> Nonnewaug remained undefeated after shutting out Lewis Mills. Nonnewaug’s Jackie Borges scored two goals in the victory. Anna Schneider and Makenzie LoPresti added an assist. Lewis Mills goalie Caroline Waters made four saves in the loss. Nonnewaug is 4-0; Lewis Mills 2-2.

Lewis Mills 17, Bristol Eastern 42 >> Lewis Mills finished strong against Bristol Eastern. Lewis Mills’ Jackson Morrow finished first with a time of 18:24. Mike Mudgett finished second with a time of 18:30. Bristol Eastern’s fastest runner, Anthony Casacantia, placed fifth with a time of 19:15.
