MIDDLETOWN — Will Levis threw four touchdown passes to lead Xavier to a 30-14 win over Newtown in an interleague matchup played at Palmer Field Friday evening.
The Falcons (1-1) built a 24-6 halftime lead, a half highlighted by a 31-yard TD pass from Levis to Kyle MacGillis and a 55-yard screen pass for a touchdown to Ty Abrahams.
A 15-yard pass from Levis to Adrian Hyatt was the only Falcon score in the second half to give Xavier a 30-6 lead.
Sam Norris had three extra points and a 33-yard field goal for Xavier.
“We played much better than we did last week [a 40-37 loss to Norwich Free Academy],” said coach Andy Guyon. “We moved a lot of kids around on defense this week and we got the right people in the right seats on the bus.”
Newtown fell to 1-1.
Xavier plays Friday afternoon at Wilbur Cross in New Haven.
