Hall-West Hartford’s Erin Bellucci made a bit of history by becoming the first female to play in the Super 100 All-Star Football Classic at Rentschler Field (at least as far as we can remember).
Bellucci, whose father Harry coaches Hartford Public and was the head coach for Team Constitution, made 30 extra points on 38 attempts for the Warriors last season and kicked against her dad’s team. This time, she was playing for her father’s team.
While she connected on one of her four extra point attempts during Constitution’s 33-9 victory over Team Nutmeg (you try kicking at narrow college goal posts when all you’ve known are the wider, high school variety. Not easy), she absolutely nailed the singing of the National Anthem.
Watch the clip (above) and get a load of those pipes.
She received wild applause by the fans at The Rent and — judging by that big grin on her face — even she knew she’d stuck the landing.
Well done. We’re sure Dad is very proud.
Actually, we know he is after watching this clip of Erin connecting on an extra point in the third quarter (via WFSB’s John Holt).
