COVENTRY — Coventry/Bolton/Windham Tech defeated Haddam-Killingworth 46-21 Friday night to remain undefeated.
The Patriots raced to a 30-7 half time lead on two first-quarter touchdowns by Shaun O’Connell who had two, one-yard runs, a 49-yard run by Nick Pronovost and a 32-yard run by Jordan Smith.
H-K (2-3) got on the board on a second quarter TD by Jake Frith (22 carries, 125 yards).
Pronovost scored on a 50-yard run in the third as Coventry/Windham Tech/Bolton/Lyman Memorial built a 38-6 lead after three.
Kevin Dougherty had a two-yard touchdown run for H-K in the fourth and Frith added a seven-yard score as the Cougars rushed for 294 yards.
Jacob Carlson scored on a 40-yard run for the winners (5-0) in the fourth.
The Patriots had 436 yards total offense.
“We had a tough time stopping their run game,” H-K coach Mike Baklik said. “But I like the way our kids continued to battle.”
