On Friday night, Ansonia’s Markell Dobbs had a game for the books in an unbeaten showdown with St. Paul. He ran for 225 yards and five touchdowns on just seven carries in a 50-0 victory over St. Paul.
On Saturday, during a visit to Arute Field in New Britain, the 5-11, 180-pound senior announced his commitment to play for Pete Rossomando’s club at Central Connecticut State.
Dobbs, who has run for 874 yards and 17 touchdowns on just 48 carries for the fourth-ranked Chargers, made the announcement on Twitter after the Blue Devils defeated Bryant 31-14.

Dobbs will join a host of other former Connecticut high school stars, including Ansonia’s Tajik Bagley, on next year’s squad.
