Windsor Locks/Suffield/East Granby football team upped its record to 4-1 with a 20-6 win over Old Saybrook/Westbrook last Saturday.
Jarvis Miller ran 28 yards for a score to put his club ahead, 7-0, at the half. He then scored from 18 yards out in the third period, while Old Saybrook/Westbrook countered with a score when Brett Sparaco ran eight yards for a touchdown to make it 14-6.
Windsor Locks/Suffield/East Granby iced the game when Kharmi Thomas picked off a pass and ran it back 60 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Miller had 135 yards on 12 carries, while Jake Marcino had 13 tackles for the winners.
Several East Granby High School student-athletes are starting for the co-op team. They are Jake Lareau, a two-way starter, Tyler Longley, an offensive tackle, and receiver Sam Cutler.
Windsor Locks/Suffield/East Granby plays at Cromwell Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
Simsbury fell to 1-4 on the season with a 21-7 loss to Conard last Friday at home.
The Trojans struck first when Nathan Craine ran 52 yards for a score and Kyle Dougherty kicked the point after in the first quarter.
But Conard scored 21 unanswered points with Fran Bell rushing for 108 yards on 17 carries for the winners.
For Simsbury, James Hermsen rushed 19 times for 100 yards, and Craine for 80 yards.
Simsbury attempts to get back on the winning track when it entertains New Britain Friday at 7 p.m.
