WEST HAVEN >> Four different players scored goals to lead Fairfield Prep back to the Division I hockey semifinals with a 4-3 victory over Glastonbury Saturday at Bennett Rink.
Fairfield Prep will face Notre Dame-West Haven, a 2-0 winner over New Canaan, in the semifinals March 19 at Ingalls Rink.
The Jesuits (14-4-3) had a 1-0 lead after the first period, but Glastonbury tied it at 2-2 during a wild sequence early in the second period where three goals were scored in 38 seconds. Glastonbury sandwiched goals from Adam Yaeger and Jack Pizzo around one from Prep’s Matt Wikman.
Dean Lockery added a goal late in the period and Mike Ventricelli made it 4-2 early in the third period to give the Jesuits a 4-2 lead. Glastonbury (16-6) pulled its goalie and cut it to 4-3 with 1:19 left, but could not get the equalizer.
Chris Gutierrez made 24 saves for Fairfield Prep. Glastonbury’s Kyle Thibdeau had 34.
