Dear Connecticut High School Coaches Association,
At the end of every season, players, coaches, teams, schools, parents, relatives, fans… everybody wants to know your organization’s All-State selections.
We can see coaches and schools congratulating their players for being selected all-state on Twitter or elsewhere.
But every season, we have to jump through hoops just to get the actual lists.
It’s only by the grace of some coaches who have the official list, who then forward it to us, that we’re able to publish the selections on this site — which is, by the way, the go-to source for such information, especially since your website — cthssports.com is rarely updated and mostly unreliable — and most (not all, but most) of the other news organizations are only concerned about their area selections.
We know you’re busy. Maybe you just have outdated contact lists? We don’t know. But we want to help. So, let’s make this very simple:
Going forward, please have each of CHSCA’s chairmen or chairwomen for each sport please send their All-State Selections to us at the following email addresses: firstname.lastname@example.org (the email for sending local information to New Haven Register, which runs this site), email@example.com (the email of the editor of this website), and firstname.lastname@example.org (the high school sports editor for the New Haven Register).
If you want to send them to other media outlets, that’s fine too, and probably recommended. I’m sure they want them as much as we do (contact their sports departments for contact information). But we’re speaking for ourselves, here.
We can guarantee your All-State teams will be published and your players recognized by a broad audience as soon as they’re sent to us and we can format them.
Here is the Softball All-State list someone was kind enough to forward to our softball reporter.
Here is the Boys Lacrosse All-State list we finally got by asking a coach at one school, who forwarded the release info to us. Our reporter covering the sport also received this release, but he was off that day, making it more important that you also CC us, his editors.
We’re still looking for baseball and the other spring sports. But especially baseball, which we know was released Monday.
Your attention to this is much appreciated.
