The Day of New London Top 10 Coaches Poll: Ansonia No. 1

Ansonia returned to the top spot in the latest Day of New London state football coaches poll. The Chargers earned 11 of 13 first-place votes.

Newtown jumped from No. 4 to No. 2 and earned a first-place vote. New Canaan fell from No. 1 to No. 3 and had a first-place vote.

Dropped out: Norwich Free Academy (9).

Also receiving votes: Hall (9-1), 141; Middletown (10-1), 123; Capital/Classical/Achievement (11-0), 114; New London (9-2), 71; Valley Regional/Old Lyme (11-0), 51; Hand (8-3), 46; NFA (8-2), 43; Ledyard (9-2), 33; Bethel (9-2), 17; Farmington (9-2), 16; Naugatuck (9-2), 9; Tie, Ridgefield (9-2), Staples (8-3), and Xavier (7-3), 8; Tie, Barlow (9-2), Brookfield (9-3), and Woodland (10-2), 7.
