Three-star wide receiver Diante Vines had plenty of options for the next level thanks to his outstanding skill set, and the offers came pouring in as a result.
Vines finally wrapped up his college recruitment Wednesday night with plans to play in the Big 10.
The rising senior from the Taft School announced his commitment to play at the University of Iowa with family and friends on social media. Vines, who transferred from Danbury last summer, caught 51 passes for 602 yards and 12 touchdowns in his first season at wide receiver.
It’s a heavyweight fight here in Greenwich, Diante Vines makes this insane catch (his 3rd TD of the day), pulls Taft within 27-26. The 2pt pass is just short. My goodness –#cthsfb pic.twitter.com/mCvLLjMwAz

Vines — who was also recruited as a defensive back — had narrowed his decision to Iowa, Boston College, Syracuse and Army in recent weeks. It’s the second Division I commitment from Danbury this summer, as Jah Joyner announced his decision to play at Boston College last month.
