HARTFORD >> Alphonso Harrison scored 23 points to lead Prince Tech to its first Constitution State Conference boys basketball championship with a 69-57 victory over University Friday night at SMSA.
Vincent Ruff added 13 points and 11 rebounds and Jared Joseph scored 12 points for Prince Tech (17-6). William Hardie led University with 16 points. Teammates Keshaun Patterson and Kyle Partyka both had 12. Six-foot-9 center Brien Wilson made nine blocks.
Prince Tech, which rallied from an early 15-11 deficit in the first quarter vs. University, has won 12 consecutive games heading into the CIAC Class M Boys Basketball Tournament. The No. 9 seed will host No. 24 Weston in the first round.
University is the No. 8 seed in the Class S boys basketball tournament. It hosts No. 25 Windsor Locks in the first round.
