The Central Connecticut Conference will be playing two postseason games in each of its four regions for both boys and girls soccer, girls volleyball and field hockey next month.

There are 32 teams in the CCC. Those teams will remain in those regions and play the two games. The top four seeds will play in one tournament, while the bottom four play in another tournament.

If a region has less than eight teams, it will be broken up differently, but still have two games, including a championship region. The higher seed will host all games.

The CCC’s region championship and consolation games are scheduled to be held Nov. 12-13.

The ECC, NVL, FCIAC and SCC are among the conferences that feature three divisions of teams. All three will also just hold region tournaments, some of them having byes when there are fewer than eight teams.

The SCC will have just its three current region championships (two for field hockey). Tentative dates for the region finals are as follows: Nov. 14 for girls volleyball — a possible tripleheader at East Haven High, normally the site for the CIAC state finals; Nov. 14 for field hockey; and Nov. 16 or 17 for both boys and girls soccer.

In the FCIAC, for regions with six teams, the top two seeds will have first-round byes and the top three seeds will have first-round byes for regions with five teams. The boys soccer finals for all three regions will be held on Nov. 10. The Central region girls soccer final will be held Nov. 10, with the other two finals set for Nov. 12.

The FCIAC’s East Region final for both field hockey and girls volleyball will be held Nov. 7 and the Central Region will be held on Nov. 10. The girls volleyball West Region will also be held on Nov. 10 while the division’s field hockey final will be held on Nov. 12.

Like the CCC, the ECC will also split up its region into four teams each. The top four will play for the division title while the bottom four will play in a consolation bracket.

This will happen for the three divisions in both boys and girls soccer, two divisions for girls volleyball and one for field hockey. Championship games are scheduled for Nov. 12 (girls volleyball and field hockey), Nov. 13 (girls soccer) and Nov. 14 (boys soccer).

The SWC has already announced that in addition to the North and South Division playing for titles, the winners will square off in a league championship game. The SWC field hockey championship will be held Nov. 18, both soccer title games will be held on Nov. 19 and girls volleyball on Nov. 20, all at neutral sites to be determined.

The Capitol Region Athletic League (CRAL) also has North and South divisions thanks to the addition of five schools from the Connecticut Technical Conference, which have teams in conferences across the state to keep those schools close to where they are located.

Girls soccer has just eight teams in the CRAL, so it will be three rounds with the championship game being held Nov. 17. Boys soccer and girls volleyball have 11 and 12 teams, respectively. So each sport will have up to four rounds of play depending upon if the lower seeds advance. The championships for both sports will be held Nov. 18.

The Shoreline Conference features all 12 of its teams in one region. The Shoreline will have either first round or play-in games for boys soccer, girls soccer and girls volleyball, followed by three rounds of tournament games like normal.

The Shoreline is planning to hold its girls volleyball and field hockey championships on Nov. 13 at the site of the higher seed. The soccer finals will be held Nov. 16.

Most conferences holding girls swimming championships are planning to hold them virtually. Some, like the SCC and the SWC, will hold in-person diving championships.

The CCC is undecided whether it will hold its four regional swim and diving championships between Nov. 9 to 12 either in-person or virtually. The ECC is planning an in-person meet on Nov. 7 at East Lyme, featuring the top 15 swimmers for each team.

All of the cross country meets, division or championship, will be staggered starts with up to 50 runners per race so they can be properly spaced out. The ECC will hold meets for its three region championships on Nov. 4 at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford.

The SCC will return to East Shore Park in New Haven for its championship meet on Nov. 11. The SWC meet will be held at Bethel on Nov. 13. The Shoreline Conference cross country meets is scheduled to held Nov. 7 at Totoket Park in North Branford.

The CCC’s cross country plans are still to be determined.
