We weren’t there, but we think this Mustapha Heron dunk should perfectly sum up Sacred Heart’s 73-61 victory over Bloomfield in the Class S semifinals at Avon High School.
Heron, a sophomore who’s already committed to Pittsburgh, threw down this jam in the first half to help the Hearts to a 34-25 halftime lead.
The Hearts extended that lead to 55-35 after three quarters to all but punch the school’s eighth state championship game ticket and first since 2009. They’ll play Valley Regional in the final.
Heron finished with 31 points, 11 rebounds and four assists for the Hearts (23-3). Charles Fisher added 18 points and Tyrn Flowers 13.
We don’t root, but we think it’s a good thing everyone will get to see Heron and the Hearts play at Mohegan Sun this weekend.
A very good thing.
