Guilford’s Sal Siciliano trailed New Fairfield’s Zach Anderson heading towards the finish line. However, the senior made it a race gutting out the last few inches of the course.
“I just turned it on, that was all I had left,” the senior said. “This is my last year so I had to leave it all out there.”
However, he fell short by just 4 seconds as Anderson came in first place with a time of 16:31. Third place was Tim Kenefick (16:42).
New Fairfield edged Guilford in the team race, too, winning 47-48. Siciliano said he was proud of his team.
“We did all we could do,” he said.
Foran’s sixth-place finish is the highest finish in the program’s 43-year history.
