Showcasing its depth at one of the most competitive prep school meets in the region, Brunswick School was a strong third in the men’s team standings after the first day action at the 2019 Eastern Interscholastic Swimming and Diving Championships.
The meet, which includes 28 teams, began Friday and concluded Saturday night at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa.
In the 200-yard medley relay, Cole Pierce, Alex Hazlett, Marcus Hodgson and Keegan Drew combined for a fourth-place time of 1:32.59.
Drew, a senior, finished sixth for the Bruins in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:41.59. The 100-yard butterfly saw Hodgson, a junior, register a third-place time of 49.23 seconds. Right behind Hodgson was teammate Christian Farricker, a senior, who clocked in at 49.63.
Brunswick’s 200-yard freestyle relay team of Hazlett, Gavin Molloy, Luke Apostolides and Farricker finished sixth (1:26.53).
Phillips Andover Academy was in first place in the team standings following Friday’s first half of the meet with 302 team points. Episcopal Academy was in second place (251.15), followed by Brunswick. The second half of the meet was completed on Saturday night at Franklin & Marshall College.
