The Brunswick School crew team won the Tabor Cup for the third straight year by winning all of its races Saturday at Lake Quinsigamond in Massachusetts.
In two races (first varsity eight, second varsity eight) against Tabor Academy, the Bruins posted a 2-0 mark to win the Brunswick-Tabor Cup for the third consecutive season and the sixth time in eight years.
Brunswick’s first varsity eight boat placed first with a time of 4 minutes, 29 seconds. Shrewsbury placed second (4:41), followed by Tabor (4:42) and Farmington (4:43). The Bruins’ first varsity eight boat included Christopher Bass, Nick Dow, TJ Lewis, Daniel Augustine, Hank Michalik, Scott Gibbons, Ryan Connolly, Tommy Kimberlin and Matthew Pillari.
The Bruins’ second varsity eight boat registered a first-place finish in 4:45.2. Shrewsbury was second (4:51), followed by Farmington (5:01), Tabor (5:05) and Cape Cod (5:24). Brunswick’s second varsity eight boat featured Fran Miguens, Peter Kapp, Nikhil Jaiswal, Christian van den Born, Theo Evans, David Swigart, Harrison Azrak, Jack Hoeffel and Peter Sheldon.
The squad’s third varsity eight boat rowed to victory in 5:11.1. Shrewsbury was the runner-up (5:46.2). Sebastian Tchkotoua, Ben Packer, Parker Russell, Tommy Sandford, John Dunn, Nick Boer, Jamie Gibbons, Andrew Hock, Ashton Arjomand led the Bruins to the win.
Brunswick picked earned six victories on Saturday, while not losing a race against any of its foes on the waters off Indian Harbor Yacht Club.
The Bruins recorded 2-0 wins against Choate Rosemary Hall, Bishop Hendrickson, Barrington, Greenwich High School, Daniel Hand and Wellesley.
