Former Hillhouse girls basketball standout Bria Holmes will have her No. 23 jersey retired in a ceremony to be held on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Hillhouse gymnasium.
The former Register All-State and All-Area performer played for Hillhouse from 2008-12. She was the State Player of the Year in 2012 and played in the McDonald’s All-American Game. She is the school’s all-time leading scorer with 2,160 points.
Holmes went on to play at West Virginia, where he was a three-time member of the All-Big 12 Conference first team. She is third in Mountaineers’ history with 2,001 points.
Holmes was drafted 11th overall by the Atlanta Dream in the 2016 WNBA Draft. She is playing for the Connecticut Sun this season.
