OUTLOOK: Last season Amity advanced to the CIAC Class L semifinals for the first time in program history. The Spartans graduated a large senior class of 17 players and were hit hardest by the departure of most of the midfield. Pepe believes that this year’s team is better at every position outside of the midfield compared to last year’s squad. If some inexperienced players can step up and fill the shoes of those who graduated, Pepe believes this team can experience similar results to last season.

OUTLOOK: Cheshire graduated talented, experienced goalie Jared Lawson. Two players are competing for the starting position – junior Austin Ingarra and sophomore Peter Brown. Pulisiciano said he has some young, talented kids this season who will help the team on the offensive side. Leading the group is Blois who has committed to play lacrosse at Arizona State. Defensively, Cheshire returns two starters and four other poles which will make that unit strong. The rams have an athletic group of players who have played a lot of lacrosse.

OUTLOOK: The team graduated 10 key players including five starters. Smalkais said the Jesuits will improve as they develop more team chemistry and create opportunities through stong practices. “The team strengths are our work ethic and the power of the brotherhood of Fairfield Prep.” Smalkais said. “Our weakness at this stage is our communication skills. We are hungry and humble.”

OUTLOOK: Adkins hopes to build off last season’s state tournament appearance. “Players have a great attitude and work ethic and we are hoping to qualify again for the state tournament,” Adkins said.

OUTLOOK: The Indians return their top three players in points from last season, along with four experienced defenders and Bright in goal. White said Guilford has a tough schedule but has the potential to be a strong team if the level of play is consistent and up to their abilities.

OUTLOOK: MacMullen is hoping to be competitive in the FAA and WNESSLA despite the loss of graduated all-area attacker Sasha Possick. The Hilltoppers have a solid core of seniors who have been with the program a long time.

OUTLOOK: The goal is to try to qualify for the CIAC Class M state tournament with a very young program. The big loss is the graduation of goalie Peter Davagnon. Castelli said freshman goalie Herbst is “a promising newcomer.”

OUTLOOK: The Gaels graduated three of their four top point scorers and as a result have a young offense. Read said his team has a lot of work to do to compete in the SCC and in the state at a high level. “The SCC is getting stronger every year and that is pushing teams to become better, learning and executing the game of lacrosse,” Read said. “We look forward to the competition.”

OUTLOOK: First-year coach Hudson likes the potential of his team. He expects the Warriors to be competitive in every game and looks to make the Shoreline Conference playoffs and CIAC Class S playoffs.

OUTLOOK: The Blue Devils lost five starters who played nearly every minute of every game, including three of their top four scorers and defensive player of the year. Read said this year’s players have a tremendous work ethic and have ben pushing each other to get better. There are two freshmen who will be starters on opening day but Read said his team “has a ton of potential.”

OUTLOOK: With a lot of new players on the team Morrell will look for steady improvement throughout the season.
