GAMES OF THE WEEK
Xavier at Hand, Tuesday, 7 p.m.: Two teams you don’t want to face when the postseason begins.
Crosby at Wilby, Tuesday, 7 p.m.: Two undefeated NVL teams enter, one team leaves unblemished. The last time these two teams met in the regular season at Wilby last January, former Wilby standout Walter Wright buried a deep three-pointer to win in overtime.
Career at Cheshire, Thursday, 7 p.m.: Cheshire is not an easy place to come away with a victory.
Hyde at Cromwell, Thursday, 7 p.m.: Remember when this was the top rivalry in the Shoreline Conference? It wasn’t too long ago. You can bet Cromwell coach John Pinone hasn’t forgotten and will try to avoid the upset.
Xavier at Fairfield Prep, Friday, 7 p.m.: Can Xavier knock off the state’s No. 1 team without guard Ryan Murphy? The Falcons will need to try and get some offense at the rim despite 7-2 Paschal Chukwu being the roadblock.
New Britain at Hillhouse (Floyd Little Athletic Center), Saturday, 5 p.m.: Completion of a home-and-home series. Hillhouse won a tough one on the road last season. Hurricanes itching for payback.
Fairfield Prep vs. Career at Wilbur Cross, Monday, 7 p.m.: And if Prep can get by Xavier, a very balanced Career team awaits in the Elm City.
- Amity played its first home game of the season last Friday night after six road games. Amity lost to Cheshire 61-33.
- Former Hamden Hall standout Danny Oglesby, who holds the school record with 3,049 points, is now an assistant coach with the Hornets under Jay Karlins.
