The official pairings will be announced on Monday evening, but here is what we know with help from league commissioner Al Carbone:
The top seven seeds are:
1) Fairfield Prep
4) Wilbur Cross
The top three will definitely receive byes into Saturday’s quarterfinals. If Hamden beats Sheehan on Monday, then Wilbur Cross will also receive a bye.
Currently, Quinnipiac Division Notre Dame-West Haven and West Haven are tied. Notre Dame swept West Haven and will be ranked ahead of the Westies.
If Cheshire beats Shelton Monday night, the Rams would be tied with ND and West Haven and get the No. 8 seed because it beat Xavier while the other two teams lost to the Falcons twice. Then ND gets No. 9 and West Haven No. 10. If Cheshire loses, it becomes the No. 10 seed and goes on the road for the opening round Thursday.
Branford and Shelton (regardless of its outcome Monday) have clinched the No. 11 and 12 seeds respectively. If Sheehan beats Hamden, it will be seeded 13th. Otherwise just 12 teams will qualify.
The quarterfinals are Saturday at Branford beginning at 11 a.m. The semifinals are March 3 at East Haven beginning at 6 p.m. The final is March 5 at Quinnipiac University beginning at 7 p.m.
