MERIDEN — Middletown’s boys basketball team rebounded from its upset loss to Hamden Wednesday by defeating Maloney of Meriden 75-57 Friday evening.
The Blue Dragons (16-3) were led by DeAaron Lawrence who had a career high 31 points. MHS also got double figure scoring from Dayquan Singletary (14), who had a double-double with a team-high 13 rebounds, Privott (13) and Tyshaun James (11), who had a double-double with 10 rebounds..
Privott had eight caroms as Middletown dominated the boards.
Middletown, which can likely clinch a top four seed in the Class L state tournament with a win over Rocky Hill Monday night at home, opens CCC playoff competition at home Thursday.
Maloney was led Romolo Sanchez with 17 points. Jeff Mozzicato had 14 and Alejandro Ortiz had 11.
Middletown led 36-27 at the half.
