HANOVER, N.H. — The Danbury High School boys and girls indoor track and field teams had a heck of a day at the Dartmouth Relays on Saturday with plenty of top-eight finishes. The Danbury girls came in second in the team scoring with 37 points, while Hatter boys finished third in the team scoring with 31 points.
For the boys, Sean-Michael Parkinson won the 400 meters (51.55), Christopher Cledera placed fifth in the 55 meters (6.68) and sixth in the long jump (20-7.75), and Nathaniel Llanos placed eighth in the pole vault (12-0).
The Hatters won the boys 4×400 relay with the team of Parkinson, Glenroy Ford, Dan Nichols and Malcolm Going clocking in at 3:33.05, and took second in the boys 4×200 with Parkinson, Going, Jaden Cazorla and Malachi Lorick finishing in 1:34.10.
For the girls, Alex Chakar placed second (1:43.47) and Olivia Turk third (1:43.92) in the 600, Meilee Kry took third in the long jump (16-10.75), Celyna Custodio placed fifth in the shot put (36-5.5), Cassandra Sturdevant finished fifth in the 800 (2:29.58), and Lauren Moore finished sixth in the 1,000 (3:04.90).
Danbury placed fifth in the girls 4×400 relay, with the team of Turk, Samantha Vasquez, Sturdevant and Natalee Seipio finishing in 4:12.16, finished second in the girls 4×200 with Erika Regus, Jessica Glowacki, Seipio and Jaylyn Carter finishing in 1:49.42, and took fifth in the girls 4×800 with Chakar, Moore, Victoria Catarino and Kiera Reisert clocking in at 10:00.38.
