The 55th JCC Schoolboy/Schoolgirl Classic will be held on April 10 at the Cardinal Shehan Center in Bridgeport. The girls game will be held at 1 p.m., followed by the boys at 3.
For the first time, the state boys will face a team from Westchester, New York. The state boys, coached by Jon Carroll (Sacred Heart) and Luke Reilly (East Catholic), are as follows: Jordan Booker (Crosby); Mark Carbone (East Catholic); Rayon Christie (Simsbury); Robert Durant (Wilbur Cross); KeAndre Fair (Weaver); Edens Fleurizard (Hopkins); Tyrn Flowers (Sacred Heart); Mustapha Heron (Sacred Heart); Rich Kelly (Fairfield Prep); Tyreek Perkins (Putnam Science Prep, formerly of Career High); Jordan Pettway (Notre Dame-Fairfield); Jordan Powell (Windsor) and Edward Volkerts (Fitch).
On the Westchester team are: JyQuan Boykin (Spring Valley); Jesse Breeding (Hendrick Hudson); Emmanuel Chukwu (Rye Country Day); Marc Dorsainvil (Spring Valley); Miles Haughton (Mamaroneck); Elijah Hughes (South Kent); Caleb Krohn (Scarsdale); Obadiah Toppin (Ossining) and Jamel Wallace (New Rochelle).
In the girls game, the Connecticut East coached by Don Leclerc (South Windsor) and Wendell Williams (Weaver), are as follows: Josie Sullivan and Sami Ashton, both from Morgan; Liz Cretella (St. Paul); Shaquana Edwards (Weaver); Desiree Elmore (Capital Prep); Cebria Outlow (Norwich Free Academy); Abby Lazewski (Avon); Molly Murphy (South Windsor); Charee Osborne (New London); Destine Perry of Mercy; Samantha Roy (Loomis Chaffee); and Cheray Saunders (Farmington).

Brandon Sherrod, a senior standout at Yale University and former participant in the classic, will be the guest speaker at a brunch beginning at 10 a.m. at Testo’s Restaurant in Bridgeport. Tickets are $40 for the brunch, game and a program and just $10 for the game. Tickets can be purchased at the Cardinal Shehan Center or the Galaxy Diner in Bridgeport.
