Jenna Bike of St. Joseph is the 2015-16 recipient of the Gatorade Connecticut Girls Soccer Player of the Year for the second straight year.
The award recognizes both outstanding academic and athletic achievement each season.
Bike, a senior forward, scored 25 goals and added five assists to lead the Cadets to a 22-1 record and the Class L state championship this past November. Bike added a goal and an assist in St. Joseph’s 2-0 win over Suffield in the state final.
Bike was also recently named the 2015 National Soccer Coaches Association of America National High School Player of the Year. She finished her career with 79 goals and 45 assists.
Bike, who will play at Boston College next fall, has maintained a B-plus average in the classroom, has volunteered locally with a fundraising campaign to benefit the Special Olympics and has also donated her time to Habitat for Humanity.
