The 33rd annual Stratton Brook Invitational Cross Country Meet will take place on September 21 at Stratton Brook State Park in Simsbury.
This year’s races will feature over 1500 athletes representing over 30 cities and towns and approximately 60 schools from Southern Connecticut to Massachusetts.
The schools that are registered to compete are Avon, Bristol Central, Canton, Capital Prep (Hartford), Cheney Tech (Manchester), Conard (W. Hartford), Daniel Hand (Madison), Farmington, Fermi (Enfield), Glastonbury, Granby, Griswold, Hall (W. Hartford), Litchfield, Manchester, Naugatuck, New Milford, Northwestern Regional (Winsted), Pittsfield (MA), RHAM (Hebron), Simsbury, Southington, Staples (Westport), Suffield, Thomaston, Tolland, Torrington, University High (Hartford), Watertown, Windham (Willimantic) and Windsor.
The schools will compete in a total of 10 races beginning at 9 a.m. in either the large or small school division depending on school enrollments classified by the CIAC.
The small schools boys junior varsity teams will start at 9 a.m. with the girls starting at 9:35 a.m. The boys varsity will start at 10:20 a.m. and the girls at 10:55 a.m.
All of the schools boys freshman will begin at 11:30 a.m. with the girls starting at noon.
For the large schools their boys junior varsity teams will run at 12:30 p.m. and the girls at 1:05 p.m. The boys varsity will start at 1:50 p.m. and the girls at 2:25 p.m.
At 3 p.m. the race will be open for anyone who would like to run.
