Wednesday’s New Haven County Softball Roundup: Mercy shuts out Amity

MERCY 4, AMITY 0 >> Juliana Dellacamera went 3-for-3 and Maddy DeRita went 2-for-3 with a sacrifice fly for Mercy in a SCC interdivision game at Middletown.

Winning pitcher Briana Sawicki and Astin Donovan both doubled for the Tigers (4-2). Heather Watt went 2-for-3 for the Spartans (6-1).

FORAN 6, NORTH HAVEN  5 >> Hannah DeSousa went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and pitcher Jess Harkness had 13 strikeouts to lead the Lions to their SCC interdivision win in Milford.

Kayla Gosselin had two hits and an RBI and Dani Kemp added two hits including a double for the Lions (4-2).

Hand 14, Guilford 1 >> Mel Rennie went 2-for-3 with five RBIs to lead the Tigers to their SCC win in Madison. Hannah Leckey went 3-for-3 with three runs scored for the Tigers (5-3). The Indians fall to 3-5.

Law 21, Hillhouse 3 (5) >> Danielle Gray hit for the cycle, the first in program history, and finished with eight RBIs for the visiting Eagles in this SCC Hammonasset Division win in New Haven.
Lena Arnold and Erin Saley each had a home run and Aubrey Bepko struck out six for Law (5-2).

PLATT TECH 4, WILCOX TECH 3 >> Devin Cipriani was 3-for-4, including the game-winning hit in the bottom of the seventh inning for the host Panthers in this CSC victory in Milford.

Yasmin Hernandez was 3-for-4 for Platt Tech (6-0).

SHEEHAN 6, SHELTON 3 >> Mikaeyla Ricci had a hit and scored twice for the visiting Titans in this SCC Housatonic Division victory.

Missy Pereira allowed five hits and struck out 12 for Sheehan (7-1, 3-1).

OXFORD 4, BROOKFIELD 0 >> Ashley Guillette pitched a perfect game and struck out 18 for the visiting Wolverines in this SWC victory.

Kaley Kempf had two hits for Oxford.

West Haven 11, Hamden 3 >> Sierra Santana had a single, double and triple and drove in three runs and Kial Watts added two doubles, a single and three RBIs to lead the Blue Devils to their SCC interdivision win in Hamden.

Amber Bonewicz had two hits and two RBIs including a solo homer for the Blue Devils.

Julia Rosenberg allowed three hits and struck out seven for Branford (2-5).
