Wednesday’s New Haven County boys hockey roundup: Vitelli leads Milford over Cheshire

Will Vitelli had two goals and Zach White added a goal and three assists to lead Milford to a 5-2 SCC-SWC Division II Hockey League win over Cheshire at Wesleyan Rink in Middletown on Wednesday.

Ben LaVallee had one goal and two assists and goalie Noah Ericson had 24 saves for the Indians (6-4-1).

Tom Sokoloff and Cody Borowski scored for the Rams (5-6-1) and goalie Joe Solla had 19 saves.

No. 3 Fairfield Prep 4, Xavier 3 (OT )>> Jack Hoey scored in overtime for Fairfield Prep in a SCC-SWC Division I game at Bridgeport.

Billy Overby picks up first career goal on a power play for the Jesuits (7-2-2).

Dustin Braman’s goal sent the game into overtime for the Falcons (4-8).

No. 4 East Haven 3, Northwest Catholic 1 >> Mike Falanga scored twice for East Haven in a non-conference home win.

Tyler Johnson added an insurance goal for the Yellowjackets (12-1). Demitrei Yao scored for Northwest Catholic.

Hand 3, Tri-Town 0 >> Ben Solin had a hat trick and Danny Braumann added three assists to lead the Tigers to their non-league win at the Northford Ice Pavilion in North Branford. Goalie Chase Briggs had 19 saves for the Tigers (6-6).

No. 10 Hamden 6, Simsbury 3 >> Anthony Rascati scored two goals and added an assist in a home victory.

Chris Feldman had 14 saves for the Green Dragons (5-5-1) in the win over Simsbury.

Hamden Hall 7, Fieldston (N.Y.) 1 >> Joe Lord had a hat trick and an assist and Jarod Castro added two goals and an assist to lead the visiting Hornets to their prep school win. Goalie Kevin Neziek had 14 saves for the Hornets (6-3).

Sheehan 4, Belchertown (Mass.) 1 >> Colin Beaudoin had two goals and an assist and goalie Carly Femniak had 28 saves to lead the Titans to their non-league win at Wallingford.
The Titans improved to 8-2-1. Alex Bachand scored for Belchertown (5-6).

    How about some praise for the two Goalies. EH Tom DeLucia, NWC Mike Lamasso who worked their butts off. They made the game exciting and a nail biter.

      What does that have to do with anything. Hard work deserves reward. Pay attention you may be surprised at who wins this year. It takes more than a school logo to win a title.
