Destiney Coward    Sr.    East Haven    Throws
Had a breakout indoor season where she won the State Open shot put title; capable of throwing over 40 feet.

Taylor Drayton    Sr.    Oxford    Throws
Returns as one of the top throwers in the shot and discus. Won shot put (41-9) Open title last spring, finished third (123-9) in disc.

Caroline O’Neil    Fr.    Hand    Sprints
Had a sensational freshman indoor debut, finishing fourth at the Open in the 55.

Leah Pfrommer    Sr.    Haddam-Killingworth    Jumps
Won the Open indoor title in the long jump, going 18 feet. Multi-talented athlete that should contend for titles in the long and triple.

Zoie Reed    Jr.    Amity    Jumps
The do-it-all is a fun one to watch. She’s capable of big jumps and has the speed to contend on the track.

Danae Rivers    So.    Wilbur Cross    Distance
One of the state’s best in the 800 and mile. Has a shot to break state records in both.

Kaleigh Roberts    Sr.    Mercy    Distance
Returns as one of the top distance runners; finished third in the indoor 3,200.

Selina Sampieri    Sr.    Cheshire    Pole vault
Had a solid indoor season, finishing fourth at the Open. One of the state’s top vaulters.

Coming off a great indoor season where she won the 55 at the Open. Also a factor in relays.
Jaliyah White    Jr.    Hillhouse    Hurdles/Sprints
Talented athlete who will be a top contender in hurdles and sprints.

After a dominant indoor season, look for Alvarado to push for state records in the 3,200 and two mile.

Ian Bergere    Jr.    Hand    Pole vault
He seems to keep getting better and better and is primed for breakout season after finishing third at the indoor Open.

Mike Lang    Sr.    Woodland    Jumps
One of the top long and triple jumpers. Coming off a spectacular indoor season, winning the long jump title at 21-07.

Nik Griswold    Sr.    Foran    Jumps
Versatile athlete who had a strong indoor season. Comes in as one of state’s top contender in high jump.

Aaron Rattley    Jr.    Amity    Hurdles
Had a breakout indoor season where he finished fourth in the 55 hurdles at the Open.

Chris Ruggerio    Sr.    Lyman Hall    Throws
Finished as the Open shot put champion this past winter, throwing 51-08.

Adam Vare    Sr.    Fairfield Prep    Middle Distance
One of the top 800 runners, finished third at the Open last spring.

Zach Williams    Sr.    Xavier    Distance
Top distance runner, finished fourth in 3,200 at the Open last year.

Michael Yuan    Sr.    Amity    Distance
Solid 3,200 runner who also is a key member of Spartans’ relays.

Shawn Fletcher    Jr.    Hillhouse    Hurdles
The speedy junior finished sixth in 110 hurdles at the Open last year. Coming off strong indoor season.
