Saturday’s NH County area boys hockey roundup: Fairfield Prep beats Hamden

Matt Wikman scored three goals and added an assist for the third-ranked Fairfield Prep boys hockey team, which beat No. 10 Hamden 4-1 Saturday in a SCC-SWC Division I matchup at The Wonderland of Ice in Bridgeport.

Jack Hoey also scored for the Jesuits (8-2-2). Sam Carignan scored the lone goal for the Green Dragons (5-7-1).

Amity 7, Guilford 2 >> Brett McNeil had three goals and two assists and Brian Mosher stopped 25 shots for Amity in a SCC-SWC road win at East Haven. Hunter Martins had 23 saves for the Indians (3-9) in a losing effort to the Spartans (7-6).

Xavier 5, No. 4 East Haven 2 >>
Andrew Meoli had a goal and an assist for Xavier in a SCC-SWC win at East Haven.

John Burkenshaw also scored for the Falcons (5-8). Matt Longobardi had a goal and an assist for the Yellowjackets (12-2).

Hand 4, Milford 1 >> Danny Braumann scored twice and added an assist for Hand in a SCC-SWC Division II win at Milford.

Ben Solin also scored twice for the Tigers (7-6). Zach White scored for the Indians (6-5-1).

Rocko Cuccaro had a hat trick for Lyman Hall/Haddam-Killingworth in a non-conference win at Cromwell.

    Woooo! what has happened to that fresh goalie in north branford? looks like all the hype was just that.
    he’s lucky the metal stops the puck more than he does for his GAA. when will that school accept the lack of coaching. when my kid had TJ he always taught the game rather than rely on the kids to do for themselves. Shaw should get out of dodge while he can. he ruined Wallingford and now NB just look at his record these past 6years declining,declining,declining consecutively
