Saturday’s football roundup: Martino leads Hopkins past King

Jim Martino rushed for 145 yards on 12 carries, including touchdown runs of 15 and 8 yards, to lead the Hopkins football team to a 35-7 prep school win over King in New Haven on Saturday.
The Hilltoppers (2-0) held King to 94 total yards on offense.
Kamsi Nwangwu added a 32-yard touchdown run and Bennett Amador had a 13-yard touchdown run for the Hilltoppers.
Daniel Romenello scored on a 14-yard touchdown pass from Nick DellaJacono for King (0-2).

 
Cheshire Academy 38, Gunnery 20 >> Quarterback Patrick Kehoe completed 14-of-21 passes for 225 yards and three touchdowns and added a 2-yard touchdown run to lead the visiting Cats to their prep school win. Chandler Coleberg had 13 carries for 101 yards and a touchdown, and Frank Zembo had 102 yards and a touchdown for the Cats.
