Monday’s NH County baseball roundup: Sean Bonaparte tosses no-hitter for Ansonia

Sean Bonaparte tossed a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts to lift the Ansonia baseball team to a 7-1 Naugatuck Valley League victory Monday over rival Derby.

Matt Pitney had two hits and two RBIs in the win. Darwin Elias added one hit and three runs, and Matt Simon had a hit and two RBIs for Ansonia (2-1). Derby falls to 1-2.

Hamden 4, No. 6 Xavier 0 >> Patrick Alexander went the distance allowing three hits and striking out eight for Hamden in a SCC Quinnipiac Division home win.  Matt Moskal had two hits and an RBI and Matt Barnett added an RBI double for the Green Dragons (2-2). Sean Carroll took the loss for the Falcons (3-1).

NOTRE DAME-WEST HAVEN 5, WEST HAVEN 0 >> Winning pitcher John Amendola allowed just three hits for host Notre Dame in this SCC Quinnipiac Division win in West Haven.

Drew Arciuolo had three hits for Notre Dame (3-1). Joe Sette had two hits for the Westies (2-2).
Career 6, North Haven 0 >> Career’s Josh Colon was 4-for-4, including a two-run home run and an RBI double, for Career in a SCC Oronoque Division win at North Haven.

Mike Caruso was 2-4 with a double and two runs for the Panthers (3-1, 2-0). Dominic Fusco doubled for North Haven (2-2, 0-2).

FORAN 9, HAND 8 >> Robert Lynch drove in the winning run on a double in the bottom of the seventh inning for the host Lions in this SCC Hammonasset Division win in Milford.

Sam Olsson had three hits and two RBIs and Dylan Brown had two hits and two RBIs for Foran (2-2). Danny Gardner had two doubles and two RBIs and Scott Braren had a single, double and two RBIs for the Tigers (2-2).

No. 10 FAIRFIELD PREP 7, SHEEHAN 5 >> Winning pitcher Kevin Stone struck out eight for the visiting Jesuits, who rallied from a four-run deficit in this SCC interdivision victory at Wallingford. Prep is 4-0.

Nolan Cloutier hit a three-run home run for the Titans (2-2).

CHESHIRE 2, SHELTON 0 >> Cooper Mrowka had two hits for the visiting Rams in this SCC Housatonic Division victory. Cheshire is 2-2 while Shelton dropped to 0-4.

EAST HAVEN 8, WILBUR CROSS 6 >> Matt Wynne had two hits and three RBIs for host East Haven in this SCC Oronoque Division victory.

Bryan Kucharski added two hits for East Haven (2-2). Sean Ranz had two hits and two RBIs and struck out nine batters for the Governors (0-4).
