Baseball

Hale-Ray 8, Coginchaug 7 (8) >> Ryan Nichisti’s bases loaded single in the bottom of the eighth scored Craig Botteon with the game-winning run as the Noises completed a comeback victory at Moodus.

Hale-Ray also scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie it at 7.

Jason Traceski went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, while Nichisti earned the pitching win in relief for Hale-Ray (1-2).

Charlie Anderson went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for the Blue Devils (1-3).

Cromwell 8, Old Lyme 4 >> Logan Lessard allowed just five hits while striking out seven in a Shoreline Conference win Monday at Monnes Field.

Cory Baldwin went 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles and an RBI, while Tucker Lord was 1-for-2 with three RBIs as Cromwell improved to 4-0.

The Wildcats fell to 2-1.

East Hampton 13, Hyde 1 >> The Bellringers scored four runs in the first and never looked back in a SLC win at New Haven.

Zak Johnson allowed three hits and struck out five in a complete game victory.

Zac Harrington went 2-for-4 with two RBI’s, Marvin Gorgas went 2-for-2, and Dylan Riley had a hit and three RBIs for East Hampton (3-1).

Hyde fell to 1-2.

Vinal Tech 22, Capital Prep 5 >> At Middletown, Justin Clark powered the Hawks 15-hit attack by going 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs.

Ryan Fazzino went 2-for-5 with three RBIs and five runs scored, while Chris Quick was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Winning pitcher Josh Mollica struck out 11 and allowed five hits as Vinal Tech improved to 2-1.

Haddam-Killingworth 8, Canton 1 >> Griffin Bremer tossed a one-hitter while striking out 17 to lead the Cougars to a non-league win at Higganum.

Bremer also had two hits and five RBIs. Ty Schuler and Anthony Marino each had two hits for H-K (2-1).

Canton fell to 0-4.

Softball

Vinal Tech 18, Capital Prep 3 >> The Hawks (1-1) scored nine runs in the second inning en route to a mercy-rule win Monday at Middletown.

Jasmine Patterson allowed only three hits while striking out nine, while Dakota Markham and Karen Agogliati each went 2-for 4 for Vinal Tech.

Capital Prep fell to 0-3,

Foran 6, Mercy 5 >> Maddie DeRita had a three-run homer for the Tigers (1-2) at Milford.

Foran improved to 2-0.

Cromwell 19, Wilcox Tech 2 >> The Panthers improved to 2-1 with a non-league home win.

Girls Lacrosse

Cheshire 15, Mercy 5 >> Michelle Federico scored six goals and keeper Alexa Carbone made 10 saves to lead the Rams at Middletown.

Danielle Richardson netted four goals for the Tigers.

Boys Tennis

Old Lyme 6, Coginchaug 1 >> At Durham, Brian Jubelirer notched a win at No. 5 singles for the Blue Devils in a SLC contest last Saturday.

Girls Tennis

Mercy 4, Sheehan 3 >> Natalie Harackiewicz, Molly Garcia, Marla Walton and Genevieve Denault led the Tigers (1-2) to a singles sweep at Wesleyan.

Haddam-Killingworth 3, Cromwell 2 >> Reilly Fitzgibbons and Mackenzie Earley captured the top two singles matches, while Mary Coletti and Jackie Stephens won at second doubles to lead the Cougars at Higganum.
