And now another great episode of the GameTimeCT Plays of the Week!
Among our many submissions (thank you!) are great runs by (deep breath) Foran’s Jake Kasuba, Middletown’s Dario Highsmith, North Haven’s Ethan Suraci, Seymour’s Joey Salemme, Fairfield Prep’s Colton Smith and Gilbert/Northwestern’s Tony Ortiz Jr, plus a nice catch and run from Trumbull’s T.J. Hayduk.
Also: Big hits from Ansonia’s Tyler O’Connor and an incredible first-half performance by New Canaan’s Zach Allen, who sacked Staples quarterback Jack Massie THREE CONSECUTIVE TIMES.
We also have big kicks, like Darien kicker Daly Hebert’s 47-yarder vs. Ridgefield in that 19-14 win and Hand kicker Tyler Phan’s 29-yard winner vs. Shelton.
Finally, plenty of great finishes: The Hayduk winning catch which completed Trumbull’s big comeback vs. Wilton, Bunnell’s last-second winning TD pass from Nolan Aurelia to Devante Teel and, of course, the final big plays of the 44-41 Hand win over Shelton.
Thanks to everybody for their submissions. We enjoy highlighting ALL of the big plays in Connecticut’s high school football weekend.
We wish we could have had a few others, like Austin Longi’s 85-yard TD pass (among many other big Greenwich plays), or plays from Central QB Mykel Morris in a loss to Norwalk, or plays from Valley Regional/Old Lyme’s big win over Morgan.
We had our hands on footage of Bristol Eastern’s winning field goal over Windsor, but we were denied permission by its owner(s).
Oh well, all the more reason to send your plays in. Chances are, no one’s going to film or send it in for you. Email video or or video links to email@example.com; or Tweet at me @spbowley or @GameTimeCT.
