Platt Tech 2, Stratford 1 (9) >> Winning pitcher Brooke Pawlak struck out seven and also had three hits for the Panthers in this non-conference win.

Liz Witkins doubled to drive in the tying run in the seventh inning and Brandi Hernandez had two hits and scored both runs for Platt Tech (3-0).

NO. 6 OXFORD 20, MANCHESTER 0 >> Ashley Guillette tossed a no-hitter and struck out 14 for the Wolverines in this non-conference victory.

Kaley Kempf and Bobbie Stilson each had four hits for Oxford.

No. 7 Torrington 6, No. 10 Seymour 1 >> Brit Young hit a two-out, two-run double in the sixth inning to lift the visiting Red Raiders to this NVL victory.

Sydney Matzko allowed just two hits and struck out 11 for Torrington (2-0).

Haddam-Killingworth 14, Cromwell 4 >> Caroline Fortuna had four hits, three RBIs and three runs scored to lead the Cougars to their Shoreline Conference win in Higganum.

Casey Jackson added three hits including a triple, three RBIs and three runs scored and Kolby Burger had three hits and two RBIs for the Cougars (1-1 (1-0). Alyssa Poole had a three-run triple for Cromwell (1-1, 0-1).

HILLHOUSE 20, WHITNEY TECH 5 >> Ana Gomez hit two home runs, including a grand slam, and finished with five RBIs for the host Academics in this non-conference win in New Haven.

Kayla Smith hit two home runs and had four RBIs for Hillhouse (2-0).

VALLEY REGIONAL 3, HALE-RAY 1 >> Emily Dona had a double and two RBIs to lead the host Warriors to this Shoreline Conference win at Deep River.

Paige LaCasse had a hit and an RBI and Amber Preble double for Valley Regional (1-1). Jess Nickerson had two hits and Cayley Botteon had an RBI for the Noises (0-2).
