Friday’s football roundup: Cheshire tops Amity

Cheshire’s Andrew Yamin had 204 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 20 carries in the Rams’ 34-13 win over Amity Friday in a Southern Connecticut Conference Division I home win.

Connor Fountain made 11 tackles for the Rams (4-5). Spencer Thomas had a 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown for the Spartans (4-5).

Guilford 35, Hillhouse 20 >> Eric Xergiebel rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries for Guilford, which clinched its first SCC Division II West title outright at home.
