The Lauralton Hall girls swim team had four wins at the CIAC Class S championships to finish second in the team competition with 589 points at Wesleyan University in Middletown on Wednesday.
Weston won the team event with 805 points. East Catholic finished third with 430 points, Sacred Heart (Waterbury) was fourth with 343.5 and Haddam-Killingworth was fifth with 290.
Mary Spillane led the way for the Crusaders with wins in the 100-yard backstroke (59.40) and the 200 individual medley (2:10.08). Teammate Joy Kaitlyn won the 50 freestyle in 24.43 and was second in the 100 freestyle in 53.22.
Lauralton Hall’s Haleigh McLaughlin, Autumn Katz, Kaitlyn and Mary Spillane combined to win the 400 freestyle relay in 3:40.00.
Caitlin McNary of Westbrook also had a pair of wins with victories in the 100 freestyle (52.46) and the 200 freestyle (1:54.30).
