Staples’ longtime head girls’ basketball coach Ed Huydic is stepping down, according to The Hour who first reported. Huydic coached at Staples for 34 years and assembled a 453-322 record and led the Wreckers to a Class LL state title and four FCIAC crowns. The last two seasons though, Staples missed the postseason.
