Kelsey White had three hits and three RBIs and winning pitcher Sam Pizzonia chipped in with two hits to lead the No. 8 Middletown softball team to a 14-4 win over New Britain Monday.
Middletown improved to 16-1.
Coginchaug 3, Valley Regional 1 >> Coginchaug strung together three hits after a leadoff single by Taylor McDermott and a sac bunt by Bailey Zettegren to take a lead in the third inning they never relinquished. Carly Lane scattered three hits to pick up the win.
Maddie Montz doubled and scored a run; Natalie Labasi doubled, drove in a run and scored a run and Destiny Helmedach singled and drove in a run for Coginchaug (10-7, 10-6)
Hale-Ray 12, Old Lyme 0 >> Aidan Fiala was 2 for 3 with two doubles, a run scored and three RBIs. Skyler Rapuano had a home run, scored twice and drove in three runs.
Hale-Ray is 16-2, 15-1 in Shoreline.
Audrey Gavin and Liz Richard each singled and had a stolen base for Old Lyme.
