Stats: Rushed for 3,867 yards, tallied 68 total touchdowns and scored 422 points, all state records, this season while leading the Chargers to the NVL title, the Class S state championship and the final No. 1 ranking in the Register Poll. Newsome owns the state record for career yards (10,672), touchdowns (187) and points (1, 162).

Honors: All-NVL, coaches all-state first-team and all-Walter Camp team selection. Was also the Register state MVP in 2011.

Up next: Has orally committed to play at UConn.

Stephen Barmore
Southington, Sr., QB

Stats: Completed 193 of 302 passes (64 percent) for 3,088 yards and 42 touchdowns against just six interceptions this season for the Blue Knights, who finished 12-1 and captured the Class LL state championship. Barmore also rushed for 369 yards and four touchdowns. On defense, Barmore made two interceptions.

Honors: All-CCC, coaches all-state first-team and all-Walter Camp team selection.

Up next: Will attend and play football at Yale.

Ervin Philips
West Haven, Sr., RB

Stats: Rushed 257 times for 1,812 yards, caught 16 passes for 275 yards, tallied 35 total touchdowns. Also made 57 tackles, recovered four fumbles and made three interceptions as a defensive back. Set 12 school records this season, including rushing yards in a career (4,596), touchdowns in a career (88) and total yards in a career (6,182).

Honors: All-SCC, coaches all-state first-team, all-Levi Jackson and all-Walter Camp team selection.

Up next: Has orally committed to play at Syracuse.

Alex Jamele
Southington, Jr., WR

Stats: Made 79 catches for 1,623 yards and 29 touchdowns this season while leading the Blue Knights to a 12-1 record and the Class LL state championship. Jamele finished with 1,932 all-purpose yards. On defense, Jamele made 66 tackles, 3.5 sacks, three interceptions, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble.

Honors: All-SCC, coaches all-state first-team and all-Walter Camp team.

Lars Pedersen
St. Joseph, Jr., WR

Stats: Caught 60 passes for 1,059 yards and 16 touchdowns for the Hogs, who went 13-2 and captured the Class M state championship. He also compiled 1,673 all-purpose yards, made 75 tackles and two interceptions.

Honors: All-FCIAC selection, Class M coaches all-state and all-Walter Camp team selection.

Stats: Made 57 catches for 1,024 yards and 19 touchdowns for the Tomahawks, who went 10-2 and advanced to the Class LL state quarterfinals.

Stats: Paved way for the Hogs to rush for 4,066 yards and 54 touchdowns and record 7,131 total yards. Led St. Joseph to a 13-2 record and the Class M state championship.

Honors: All-FCIAC, coaches all-state first-team and all-Walter Camp team selection.

Stats: Paved the way for the Westies to rush a school-record 527 times for 4,351 yards (an average of 334.6 per game, which set a school record). Behind Cinti, West Haven also set school records for plays in a season (721), plays per game (55.5), most yards in a season (5,309) and most yards per game (408.4).

Honors: All-SCC, all-Levi Jackson team selection.

Stats: Paved the way for the Panthers to rush for 2,780 yards and 41 touchdowns and gain 4,370 total yards. Led Platt to an 11-1 record and an appearance in the Class L state quarterfinals.

Stats: Helped pave way for the Chargers to rush for 6,059 yards, 95 touchdowns and 7,108 total yards. Helped lead the Chargers to a 15-0 record, the NVL title, the Class S state championship and the No. 1 ranking in the final Register Top 10 Poll.

Honors: All-NVL, coaches all-state first-team and all-Walter Camp team selection.

    looks to be the most thoughtful all state team where people actually put thought into the selection process. Who knows, maybe most of the voters actually saw games outside of one league. Unlike the coaches poll where block voting really ruins the integrity of the All State selection.

        Kahuna, Sorry meant the whole selection of 1st through honorable mention. Just didn’t want to repost the same comment on all the posts. I still think the register’s all states and all area were the most true to this season.
